Your record, and how we keep it safe

It belongs to you

Everything you bring into BRILL.health — from your doctors, your insurer, your devices, or files you upload — is gathered into one record that's yours. We don't pool it into one big database with everyone else's. It's your own filing cabinet, not a shared warehouse.

We don't share your records with any AI tools

A worry we hear: “If an AI reads my records and flags something, could it be used against me later — by an insurer or an employer?” So, plainly: we don't run AI over your medical records, we never hand them to outside AI tools, and we never use your data to train one. We use AI only as a build tool — to assemble and organize the plumbing — never to read or judge your health.

If you ever want an AI analysis — for example, a specialist genomic-AI service — that's a separate service you switch on yourself. You choose it, you consent to it, and you can turn it off. Its findings live in your record as that service's opinion, with its confidence shown — and they go to no one without your say-so.

One honest note: we control what we do with your data — we don't analyze it with AI, share it, or sell it. We can't give legal advice about what you may need to tell an insurer; what we promise is that nothing leaves BRILL.health without your consent.

It's protected — locked so no one else can peek

Your records are stored scrambled and unreadable, so they stay safe even in the unlikely event someone broke into our servers. Today we hold the key so we can show your record to you. We're building toward where only you hold that key — unlocked by the same Face ID or fingerprint you use to sign in, and safely backed up to your Apple or Google account so it's there when you need it.

Sharing is a living view, not a file that escapes

When you share with a doctor or a family member, they open a view inside their own secure session — they can read it, but there's no button to download or print a record you've shared to them. Turn sharing off and they stop seeing your record and any new updates, right away.

One honest note, because we won't pretend otherwise: just like showing someone a document in person, anyone can write down or photograph what's on their screen — so share with people you trust. What we promise is that you control who has access and what they keep seeing.

Lost your phone? Your record is safe

It isn't trapped on that phone — sign in on any device with your email and Face ID or fingerprint, and everything's right where you left it.

Connecting adds; disconnecting just stops new updates

Re-connecting a source later adds anything new — it never erases what you have. Your own notes are always yours.
